Employees whose duties involve regular evening attendance in connection with meetings shall be granted compensatory leave of absence at the convenience of/in consultation with the Director of School/Head of Service, except in cases when such circumstances are reflected in the employee's recognised conditions of service, and are specifically referred to in the employee's terms of appointment.
Where by mutual agreement, compensatory leave is not granted and evening duties are not reflected and referred to in the employee's terms of appointment, the overtime provisions detailed in section 29 of these condititions shall apply.
Employees should not be contracted to work more hours than the standard 37 a week unless this is unavoidable for the proper performance of the job. But where such hours are to be worked the employee shall receive overtime payments in accordance with Section 29 of these conditions.
The standard working hours are as follows:-
Monday - Thursday 8.30 a.m. - 5.15 p.m. Friday 8.30 a.m. - 4.45 p.m. 1¼ Hours for LunchCertain employees will be eligible for inclusion in the flexible working hours scheme - See Section 27.
